Africa is endowed with a varied array of wild animals.  For each ecological setting therein, there are wild animals to match, & habitats within which to sustain them.  Some of these wild animals are classified as "endangered", while others are more populous, &, therefore, of "least concern".  No matter the sizes of their respective populations, they each contribute to the biodiversity balance within and across their respective African territories.

There are 299 mammal species in South Africa.

The massive expanse of the Kruger National Park is home to over 147 species of mammals, 114 reptile species, 51 snake species, 49 fish species & a massive 508 species of birds, a number unrivaled anyway else in South Africa.
